Carbon and Graphite Felt

The carbon and graphite felts are processed from a rayon precursor and fired to graphitizing temperatures. Primarily used as high temperature insulation in inert or vacuum atmospheres offering high stability through rapid thermal cycling.

Distinctive Characteristics

  • Superior thermal properties over a wide range of operating temperatures
  • High stability with low shrinkage
  • Flexible and easy to handle
  • Low density and thermal mass
  • Greater efficiency in heating and cooling
  • Low thermal conductivity
  • Uniformity through the material
  • Available in different lengths, widths and thicknesses
  • Easily cut to fit specific size requirements
  • Can be halogen purified to reduce impurity levels into the ppm range
